Getting Started
Click the "Sign Up" button on the homepage and fill in your details including name, email, and password. Once registered, you can immediately browse our course catalog and explore detailed course previews. Your account gives you access to progress tracking and achievements.
Our platform is designed for all skill levels. Complete beginners should start with Introduction to Cybersecurity (TSEC), which requires no prior experience. Experienced professionals can jump directly into advanced courses like Advanced Red Teaming or Exploit Development. Each course clearly indicates its difficulty level and recommended prerequisites.
You can browse our full course catalog, read detailed course descriptions, and explore the curriculum structure before purchasing. Each course preview page gives you a breakdown of modules, lessons, labs, and certification details, so you know exactly what you're getting.
Your main hub is the Dashboard, which shows your enrolled courses, progress, and recent activity. Use "Courses" to browse the catalog, "My Courses" to access your enrolled content, and "Progress" to track completion. The Achievements page tracks badges you earn along the way.
Courses & Learning
Each course is organized into modules and lessons. Lessons include in-depth reading materials, practical exercises, and knowledge checks. Most modules end with hands-on labs where you apply what you've learned in realistic scenarios. Courses also include quizzes to reinforce key concepts and a Capstone project that ties everything together.
Our courses feature in-depth written content with real-world examples, hands-on labs using industry-standard tools, interactive exercises, quizzes, case studies from real incidents, and a Capstone project. Advanced courses include access to virtual lab environments with pre-configured machines and security tools.
It depends entirely on your background and how much time you can dedicate. Someone with prior experience will move through material faster than a complete beginner. All courses are fully self-paced with no deadlines, so you can take as much time as you need. The depth of lab work and hands-on practice also varies; some students prefer to repeat exercises until they are fully comfortable before moving on.
There's no pressure. All courses are entirely self-paced with no strict deadlines. Your progress is automatically saved, and you can resume exactly where you left off at any time. Once you purchase a course, you have lifetime access to the course content. Note that lab environment access is included for 90 days from your start date. If you need additional lab time, paid extensions are available. Contact our support team for details.
Every course is designed to be fully self-sufficient. While we recommend starting with Introduction to Cybersecurity (TSEC) as a foundation if you are new to the field, it is not a prerequisite. You can enroll in any course that matches your interests and skill level. Some overlap between courses is intentional to ensure no gaps within any single course.
Labs & Practice
Labs are practical exercises where you apply course concepts in realistic scenarios using industry-standard tools. Each module includes one or more labs that reinforce the material you just studied. Labs range from guided walkthroughs for beginners to open-ended challenges for advanced students.
Each course purchase includes 90 days of lab environment access from your course start date. This gives you plenty of time to work through all exercises at your own pace. If you need more time, paid extensions are available. Contact our support team.
Most labs run in pre-configured virtual environments accessible through your browser, so you do not need to install anything special. For some advanced courses, we recommend having a local VM with Kali Linux or a similar distribution. Each course specifies its requirements in the first module.
The Capstone is a final practical project at the end of each course that ties together everything you have learned. It simulates a real-world engagement or scenario and is designed to prepare you for the certification exam. Completing the Capstone is strongly recommended before attempting the exam.

Yes! Our platform is fully responsive and works on smartphones and tablets. While the full experience is optimized for desktop or laptop use (especially for labs and hands-on exercises), you can read lesson content, take quizzes, and track your progress on mobile devices.
We support all modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge (latest versions). You need a stable internet connection and JavaScript enabled. For virtual lab environments, we recommend a computer with at least 8 GB of RAM for optimal performance.
We welcome all feedback. Use the Contact page to report bugs, suggest improvements, or ask questions. Please include as much detail as possible, such as the page where the issue occurred, your browser, and any error messages you saw. We typically respond within 24-48 hours.
Certifications & Progress
Each course has a corresponding certification (e.g., TSEC, TPEN, TRED). To earn a certification, complete the course, then pass a practical exam. One exam attempt is included with every course purchase. Exams are hands-on assessments where you work on real scenarios using real tools, then submit a professional report. TSEC is the only exception: it uses a 20-question MCQ format. See our Terms of Use for the full exam policy.
No. Talence Security certifications are lifetime credentials with no renewal fees and no CPE requirements. Once earned, your certification never expires and can be verified online at any time.
Exams are open-book. You can use any tool or reference material. However, AI usage is strictly prohibited during the exam, and collaboration or sharing of solutions with other candidates is not allowed. All exams except TSEC require a professional report. Violation of these rules results in disqualification. See our Terms of Use for the complete exam policy.
Yes. Additional attempts are available for a flat fee of $299. A minimum 30-day waiting period applies between attempts. See our Terms of Use for details.
Not at this time. The certification exam is currently bundled with the course, and every enrollment includes one exam attempt. This ensures candidates have access to the full training material, hands-on labs, and practice assessments before sitting the exam.
Every certificate includes a unique verification code (e.g., TS-TPEN-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX). Employers, recruiters, and institutions can verify any certification instantly on our verification page. You can also share your direct verification link.
We currently offer six certifications: TSEC (Security Fundamentals), TPEN (Certified Pentester), TRED (Red Team Operator), TDEF (Certified Defender), TFOR (Forensic Analyst), and TMAL (Malware Analyst). More certifications are coming soon. Visit our Certifications page for the full roadmap.
Progress is automatically tracked as you complete lessons and quizzes. Your dashboard shows your completion percentage for each course, and the Progress page provides a detailed breakdown by module. Completing lessons and passing quizzes also earn you XP and badges visible on your profile.
Yes. You can retake any quiz as many times as you like to reinforce your understanding. The platform tracks your attempts and scores, helping you identify areas that need more review before attempting the certification exam.

Your card information is entered directly on Stripe's secure payment form and is encrypted end-to-end. We only receive a confirmation that the payment was successful.
We offer a 14-day refund policy. If you are not satisfied with a course within 14 days of purchase and have accessed less than 20% of the course content, contact our support team for a full refund. This threshold exists to prevent abuse while ensuring genuine buyers can request a refund if the course does not meet their expectations.
